Supporting the global calendar of 70 official Ferrari 70th Anniversary events around the world, an incredible line up of classic and modern Ferrari models from every era were showcased at the event held in Taupo.
To mark the occasion, the Ferrari Owners’ Club of New Zealand staged their National Rally, taking in some of New Zealand’s best scenery and most beautiful roads. Two Ferrari cavalcades, comprising of more than 70 cars, travelled from Auckland and Wellington to the historic Tongariro National Park in Taupo for the event.
Established in 1887, Tongariro National Park is New Zealand’s first National Park, and the fourth National Park to be created in the world. It has gained international significance by being awarded UNESCO Dual World Heritage, a status which recognises the park’s important Maori cultural and spiritual associations as well as its outstanding volcanic features.
The Ferrari convoys then travelled on to the elegant Chateau Tongariro , one of New Zealand’s most elegant iconic buildings located in the middle of the National Park. Once there, guests were treated to more exciting entertainment, including a celebratory gala dinner and the unveiling of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary special edition, LaFerrari Aperta.
